Storage Fair Use Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

This Storage Fair Use Policy explains how storage is allocated and managed for The Coparent App accounts.

Why we have this Policy

We want to provide reliable storage for ordinary personal co-parenting and family administration use while protecting the Service from abuse, excessive or unrelated storage consumption, unlawful content, and behaviour that could affect performance, security or availability for other users.

Base storage allocation

Each account starts with a base storage allocation of 5GB.

This allocation includes files, images, documents, attachments and other stored content associated with that account unless we state otherwise.

Additional storage on request

If you reasonably need more storage, you may request an increase by contacting support at info@thecoparent.app.

If approved, we may increase your storage allocation by an additional 5GB at a time.

Storage increases are granted at our discretion and are not guaranteed.

How we review requests

When deciding whether to grant additional storage, we may consider factors including:

  • whether your usage appears consistent with ordinary personal use of the Service;
  • whether the stored material appears relevant to co-parenting, family records, scheduling, communication or closely related purposes;
  • whether your account or content raises legal, security, moderation or abuse concerns;
  • whether the uploaded material appears excessive, duplicative, unrelated or automated; and
  • whether granting the increase would create disproportionate operational or security impact.

Examples of use that may be declined or restricted

  • Using the Service as a general-purpose cloud drive or media archive;
  • Uploading large volumes of unrelated personal or business files;
  • Repeatedly uploading duplicate, compressed or bulk-exported material with no reasonable app purpose;
  • Using automation, scraping or scripts to create storage load;
  • Uploading unlawful, infringing or prohibited material; or
  • Any use that breaches our Terms and Conditions or Acceptable Use Policy.

What happens when you approach your limit

If you approach or reach your current storage allocation, we may display an in-app or in-service notice asking you to contact support to request an increase.

We may also encourage you to delete or export material you no longer need.

We may temporarily restrict new uploads until your allocation is increased or storage usage falls below your limit.

No automatic entitlement

Additional storage is a discretionary accommodation, not an automatic right, even if a previous increase was granted.

We may refuse, withdraw, reduce or place conditions on storage increases where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, other users, or our legal and operational interests.

Abuse, enforcement and suspension

If we reasonably believe storage is being used abusively, unlawfully, or in breach of our policies, we may investigate, remove content, restrict uploads, suspend features, reverse discretionary storage increases, or suspend or terminate the account.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the updated date.
