Does the Other Parent Have to Use the Same Co-Parenting App?

Quick answer: Not always. Shared calendars, expenses and a linked conversation work best when both parents use the same app. Bridge Mode™ is different: one parent uses The Coparent App while the other receives and replies to messages through ordinary email without creating an account.

What can the email-only parent do?

They can receive Bridge messages in email, read the included content and reply from their email account. Supported attachments can travel with the conversation. They do not receive the full app workspace or shared tools.

What can the app user do?

The app user writes inside The Coparent App, sees email replies in the conversation and can use app-side features such as writing assistance, boundaries and organised records.

When should both parents link?

Link when both people agree to use the app and want shared calendars, expenses and the complete two-user workspace. A pending Bridge invite must be explicitly revoked; an already linked workspace follows a separate unlink process. Check the user guide before changing modes.

How much does it cost?

The Coparent App costs £9 per family per month. The external email recipient does not pay to receive or reply to Bridge messages. If both parents later link, the second parent is covered by the same family subscription.

Bridge Mode™ works alongside Boundary Mode™

These features solve different problems and are designed to work together. Bridge Mode™ lets one parent use The Coparent App while the other parent replies through ordinary email. Boundary Mode™ remains the separate protection against repeated unanswered normal messages, allowing up to three consecutive messages before a reply resets the allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Does the other parent need a Coparent App account?

No. In Bridge Mode™, the other parent can receive messages and reply using ordinary email. The app user keeps the conversation in The Coparent App.

Does the email recipient pay?

No. The Bridge recipient uses their existing email to receive and reply. The app subscription is held by the Coparent App user.

When is linked-parent mode better?

Linked-parent mode is better when both parents are willing to use the app and want shared access to tools such as calendars and expenses. Bridge Mode is for the period when only one parent is using the app.

Can I switch later?

Yes, but follow the correct process for the current state. A pending invitation is revoked differently from an already linked workspace.
